About Us
We are Justin's family and we created Macka's Mission in his memory so that we can continue his legacy and make positive impacts in many people's lives, just as he would have done. We lost Justin to a fentanyl overdose in 2020 and we are determined to help prevent others from doing the same.
Our Mission
Our mission is to raise awareness about addiction and overdose, reduce the stigma associated with addiction and mental illness, and raise funds for individuals in support of their recovery.
Justin “Macka” McRae
Justin started playing football when he was just 7 years old. He started on the offensive & defensive lines throughout high school & rounded out his career as a Senior Captain. A big kid at 6’3”, Justin had hit after hit in games & at practice. He frequently complained of headaches & other concussion symptoms.
Amidst the devastation, we feel honored to have donated Justin’s brain to The Concussion Legacy Foundation where his brain was studied at Boston University. If there’s anything we can do to live through our horrific loss, it is to help other people. The research done by @concussionfoundation will help millions of people just like Justin. Together we can make a difference for the future.

Our Annual Basketball Tournament is back! Bounce back into action with us on Saturday, June 20th, at the Woburn Boys & Girls Club. Team up with your friends for some on-court rivalry or just swing by to cheer, munch on delicious food, and enjoy the thrill of our raffles. There's even an ice cream truck to sweeten the day! Every play, cheer, and bite helps someone in their recovery journey. Join us for a day where every shot supports a great cause. Can't wait to see you there!

Macka's Mission
As an organization, we strive to support individuals in recovery and spread awareness to end the stigma around addiction. Our efforts manifest mainly through hands-on work with community partners supporting those suffering from substance abuse and homelessness, as well as through fundraising events such as our annual 3v3 basketball tournament held at the Woburn Boys and Girls Club.
All of the funds we raise go directly towards supporting people in recovery.
